My largest painting to date, I felt a large format was needed to honour the magestic power of this beast and immense view from atop Boucherie Mountain. ‘Kelowna’ is the word in the local First Nations’ language for ‘Grizzly Bear’. Mount Boucherie, as it is called today, is the remnant of a volcano that last erupted more than 50 million years ago.
